Hello out there...

Ahh...you never take fresh air for granted, especially when taking a breather from the claustrophobic confines of the shaft. Operations are running at break-neck pace, with new tunes in the works. After a bit of polishing, many of these jems will be included on our upcoming full length, which goes into production shortly after the new year. Although this is quite a ways away, it will be in conjuction for an upcoming tour with our pals, the Reddmen. The Reddmen, BTW, made it all the way from the Dakotas to our neck of the mining pit a couple weeks ago. Good shows + good pals = FUN, so many thanks to our Cabana 1 label mates.

Until then, no need to fret, as we will continue to ply our trade on the local circuit with new bass player, Miller. Let's just say he's been a part of the outfit for a while, albeit in a round about way (PQ & MCHS really know how to breed winners, don't they?).

Uh oh, there goes the whistle! Time go get back to work. Until then...

Hello again, folks. Plenty of good things to report from the mine. Our long awaited 2003 EP "Get Smart" has finally been unlocked from the vault courtesy of the good guys at Cabana 1 Records. If you already haven't heard or purchased it, go here ASAP as they're selling like hot cakes! There are plenty of other goodies there to whet your appetite too.

A brand new miner has joined the union. His name is Sebastian and he plays a mean bass, backed with lots of cool licks and hot kicks. He will be accompanying the rest of us as we embark upon a mini West Coast tour this November with our pals from South Dakota, The Reddmen. We will be joining them for select dates on this leg of their tour. More news and info to come. Story developing...

Last but not least, we'll be playing a Halloween show on Oct 29 @ Chaser's. Our friends the Wastrels and Live 45 are sharing the bill, so come one, come all!!

Hola & que pasa...(Hello & what's up for you non-Spanglish speakers)!...

Go visit the "good guys" over at our gracious label, Cabana 1 Records, as they have a brand new online store here. It features a plethora of the U-crew gear (i.e. albums, shirts, stickers, buttons, posters, etc.), as well as stuff from the rest of the talent roster. You won't be disappointed.

As far as shows go, we've had a few since our last communique. Sorry if you missed out, but hey, you've probably been too busy watching TV. Neverheless, the next one is this Saturday, Aug 20th @ Blind Melon's. Yes, it's a local show, and yes, it's in that veritable wastleland of perpetual coolness called PB, but it'll be with our good friends the Wastrels and legendary old farts, D.I. If any of you SD kids get there early enough, tell the doorman, "the Underhills are good, but I'd rather see Chevy Chase doing a fat rail of coke"...a special prize will await your hairy palms.

We've successfully carried out another perilous mining operation by the skin of our teeth. Whew! New diamonds = new tunes. We'll unveil some of these polished jewels at our next show, Friday, July 22 @ the Honeybee Hive. Game time is 9 PM, so come one, come all. Hola, amigos! It's been a while, but we're still alive and enjoying it. Thanks to those who have gone outta their way and purchased the new EP, we appreciate it. Those who haven't, go here now! The good guys over at our label, Cabana 1, even have a special surprise for those who do so, but don't go running heels now, ya hear?

To our fellow San Diego constituents, don't forget to join us June 30th at Scolari's Office with the Ruminants plus guests. For the rest of you out there, don't fret. Plans are underway to cast off for summer touring and fun, so stay tuned for more details as they develop.

We're back!!

First things first. Thanks to everyone who came to the show we played last night with the Dead Kennedys @ Canes. We had a blast, and being that it was our first show in about 2 years, it was good to finally get the proverbial "monkey off the back".

In other happenings, our new EP What Went Wrong is dropping Tuesday, April 26th. It can be purchased through Interpunk here. Individual tunes are available to download online RIGHT NOW here.

Last but not least, we'll be in Smell A (LA) tonight playing at Live Jazz in the Little Tokyo section of that wasteland of a metropolis with our pals Regal Begal, amongst others. We're also playing this Sunday the 17th back here in good 'ol SD at the Zombie Lounge with the Attacks.

As the title track off our new EP What Went Wrong and the title of this post, one question comes to mind regarding the show we were supposed to play (but didn't) this past Saturday @ Scolari's....has art imitated life? Hardly not in this case, but we are sorry to those who anticipated seeing us in action. A few unfortunate factors culminated in the last minute cancelation, mainly the fact J Bronco's knee is all messed up and requires surgery this week. We are in a holding pattern for this weekend's scheduled show at the Honey Bee Hive.

Tour...

We are hitting the road this coming April in support of our upcoming release on Cabana 1 Records, What Went Wrong.

The tour will kick-off here in San Diego the night of the 7th and continue through Vegas, Utah and scattered California dates, ending on the 14th. Check our My Space page for venue and location info right here.

On another note, a selected tune from the new release will be coming shortly.

The What Went Wrong EP is almost complete. We are preparing for the final mixing sessions and hope to have it ready for mastering very soon. The EP is right on schedule for a March 29th release date, and are excited to release it with Cabana 1 Records again. Check them out here.

Tomorrow A New EP, Today A Name

We are hitting the studio tomorrow to begin recording a few new tunes. We are titling the new Pre-Production session/EP What Went Wrong and hope to have it completed and out shortly...

The song titles are as follows:

2. Get A Hold On You
3. Now That You're Gone
4. It's Over (Now)
5. Savings Plan

(Two of the songs were written before the band broke-up in 2003 and were geared towards becoming the filler for our follow-up LP on 1-4-5 Records.)

Once completed, we are gonna throw one tune up on our My Space page for listening and one on our PureVolume page as well. So check for those soon...Email us if you are interested in getting a copy of the new stuff, or any of our past releases as well...

OK, the day has finally come. the Underhills Get Smart EP has "non-officially" been released by our good pals over at Cabana 1 Records. The EP release is a DowloadPunk.com specific, and the songs can be purchased individually or collectively for a small savings. The EP, as well as other Underhills releases, can be found here.

In other news, the band is on track to record their new batch of tunes on the 22nd. Five, maybe six, new tracks will make up what will be the bands first recording session in nearly 2 years. The band plans to release these tunes through Cabana 1 Records, and are considering pressing a small run. Either way, the tunes will be available at DownloadPunk.com for purchasing once released.
